I am a huge Bobbi Brown fan, of the lady herself and of her makeup line so when she brought out her 25th Anniversary Collection I knew there would be something unveiled that would head straight to the top of my beauty wish list and I wasn’t wrong. The Limited Edition City Collection which forms part of her 25th Anniversary line is a nod to 3 iconic and fashionable cities – London, Paris and New York.
I fell instantly in love the with eye and cheek palettes for each of these 3 Cities and the packaging is amazing! The palettes themselves contain 4 powder eyeshadows in matte and metallic/shimmer finishes from light to dark shades, along with one matt blush powder – which equals one ideal travel companion. The designs/illustrations on the front of each palette by illustrator Richard Haines encapsulates the essence of the cities perfectly, and it was hard to choose which one I should add to my ever growing Bobbi Brown Collection.
London City Palette – with its cool Britannia and fashionable fun feel this palette has shades of warm nudes, including a beautiful nude peach eyeshadow (I am still lusting over) and a fun deep navy blue eyeshadow, perfect for something a little bit different. These shadows sit aside a pinky-peach pop of blush colour that gives the perfect flush of English Rose mixed with that busy London it-girl feel.
Eyeshadows: Pale Cream / Nude Peach / Nude Shimmer / Rich Navy
Paris City Palette – inspired by the sophisticated, timeless Parisian French ladies with their effortlessly chic nudes and greys eyes, and their fresh pink cheeks. This palette would be the perfect smokey eye palette for that evening stroll along the La Seine.
Eyeshadows: Ivory / Grey Shimmer / Brush Granite Metallic / Eclipse
Blush: French Pink
New York City Palette – with its cool, effortless style this palette has wearable nudes and a tawny blush for a true modern New York City girl-on-the-go feel.
Eyeshadows: Cream / Champagne Quartz Metallic / Birch / Espresso
Despite being a London girl I initially walked into the store to buy the Paris Palette thinking it would be the one that was more ‘my kind of colours’ palette, but I actually came away with the New York palette whilst ‘seriously’ lusting after the London one. Seeing all 3 palettes up close made me want them all! But here is a closer look at the New York Palette.
I really do hope to pick up all 3 of these palettes before they get discontinued because I feel they are actually something rather special and that’s not just down to the extremely beautiful packaging or my love for all things Bobbi Brown. I love how small and compact the palette is, its takes up no space in my makeup yet contains 4 eyeshadows, a blusher and mirror. These palettes can easily transform you from day to night by how light or intense you work each buttery, creamy, highly pigmented shade. The shades also complement each other to a T, they work so well together that creating a look in a morning seems effortless.
Wearing all the colours from the Bobbi Brown City Collection New York Palette
In the UK the Bobbi Brown City Collection Palettes were initially exclusive to Harrods but they are now also available on the Bobbi Brown UK website priced £45.00 each, these City palettes would make a great Holiday gift for someone special especially with their fun packaging, the hardest part is choosing a favourite….which is yours?
