Tis the season to be jolly and the minute December’s Glossybox landed on my doorstep and I opened it to discover it was a Rose Gold theme I was very jolly indeed. This box is a collaboration with the successful and knowledgeable Beauty Blogger Really Ree and I think they have created a great festive edition. As always I adore the Glossybox artwork itself, I do think their boxes are the most beautiful looking around and this box was no disappointment, a Rose Gold Festive package with delightful treats awaiting. The collaboration with Really Ree is all about her top best of beauty picks for the season and in this box we are treated to 6 products instead of the usual 5.
Darphin 8 Flower Nectar Oil Cream – I am a Darphin devotee so whenever I see a Darphin product in a Glossybox it feels abit like Christmas to me anyway so this one is perfect timing. I am a big fan of their Essential Oils and couldn’t be without their face creams so when I read that this product is a combination of the 2 I have to say I am really intrigued to give this product a try, out of all the products I have received from Glossybox thus far this one excites me the most for sampling. (Full size product: £65.00)
Etre Belle Golden Skin Caviar Eye Roll-On – I know the eye roll-on’s are hugely popular but I have to confess I have never actually used one on myself before, however I am excited to try this out. Sampling it on the back of my hand I can already feel the cooling and smooth effect, it seems fast-absorbing into the skin too so this one looks a keeper for under my eye area, especially after a Christmas Party or two. (Full size product: £30.66)
So Susan Statement Skin Highlighter Pencil – So Susan is a brand that have popped up in my Glossybox before and this small chunky highlighter stick looks a fab size for popping in your makeup bag and we all love a highlighter. Swatching it straight away it feels smooth like a gel liner, a tad waxy but blends easily to give a nice golden glowing finish, the shape of the pencil makes lightwork of precision highlighting and I can imagine great for strobing newbies. (Full size product: £15.00)
Essence Liquid Lipstick – I received the shade ‘Show Off’ and its a rather bright almost neon coral colour and very glossy on the lip. I do love bright coral lips but tend to wear this type of colour more for Summer so I think this one will be retired to my makeup drawer until the weather is warmer and I have a tan. For a Christmas Box I actually would have preferred either a true red or a deeper berry shade for the lips but I do like the simple, clean packaging. (Full size product: £2.50)
Kiko Extra Sculpt Volume Mascara – I always enjoy receiving a mascara in a Glossybox as I love discovering new mascaras and this one really caught my eye from the sleek packaging to the hourglass wand shape. The texture appears quite thick and creamy and I am really keen to try this wand shape to see how well it catches each lash, looks a fun one to try. (Full size product: £8.90)
Starskin Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Mask – This face mask claims to do quite a lot of great things for the skin from instantly smoothing to moisture loss prevention, long-lasting suppleness, to name a few but I have heard good things about Starskin Masks so I am excited to pamper my skin with this one-use skin mask and I feel this mask is well suited for my dry skin. (Full size product: £8.50)
All in all I think December’s Glossybox was a great one, I would have liked something inside to be a little more ‘Christmassy’ or more ‘Rose Gold’ but the fact that Darphin was in my box gives it big bonus points. I also feel this box has been more thought out than some of my previous Glossyboxes in terms of how each product compliments the next one well – from the prepping of the skin to the makeup products to the pampering/rescuing of the skin the morning after the night before, and of course the pretty box packaging itself, it made me feel ready for the Festive Season.
