Glossybox La Mer Special Edition Box

Glossybox La Mer Special Edition Box

La Mer Glossybox

My very first blog post was all about the special edition Nars Glossybox, I loved that Nars collaborated with Glossybox along with the all the iconic favourites and new products it produced in one gorgeous little black box.  So as soon as I saw that La Mer were to collaborate with Glossybox on a new special edition box I had the date in my diary and alarm set on my phone ready to try and grab one the instant they went on sale.  These special edition boxes sell out within minutes but I was lucky enough to get my hands on one and I am so happy I did.  I have never tried any La Mer products before but have heard and read all the amazing reviews about them.  These products are pricey to buy full size which is why its such a treat to be able to sample 6 of their products in one go with the Glossybox price of £40.00 for non-subscribers and £35 for Glossybox Subscribers (the contents of the box are said to be worth £118 in total).  So lets have a closer look at what was inside the Glossybox La Mer Special Edition Box….

Creme De La Mer Creme De La Mer

Creme de la Mer

Its iconic, its a cult classic, its written about in beauty magazines, used by countless celebrities and to buy full price its £115 for 30ml.  This moisturiser really is the ‘Creme de la Creme’ of moisturisers in the Beauty World thanks to the ‘Miracle Broth’ that hydrates and soothes the skin.  You can tailor this product’s use to your skin type – for oily skin use once a day, for dry skin use morning and night.  To apply and to activate the ‘Miracle Broth’ you warm a small amount between your fingertips until the cream becomes transparent and slippery in texture, then you pat it onto clean, dry skin all over your face.  This product was the one I was most excited to try, especially as I suffer from dry skin myself, I have high hopes and from using a small sample I can already tell that this is just pure luxury heaven for the skin.

R.R.P – £115.00 / 30ml

The Intensive Revitalizing Mask

I cannot wait to try this, I am saving it for a proper girlie pamper night where I can indulge in such a luxurious face mask and saver every moment.  You apply a generous layer to your face and neck and leave for 8 minutes, then wipe the excess away, or you can leave it on overnight for a super-intensive treatment.  The mask contains the trio of ‘Miracle Broth’, ‘Vitality Ferment’ and ‘Purifying Ferment’ which all help to promote skin turnover as well as drenching the skin with moisture, protecting the complexion from stress and pollution whilst neutralising free radicals.  Its a skin detox which claims to leave it brighter, fresher and plumper.  My skin and I are so ready for this.

R.R.P – £115.00 / 75ml

The Eye Concentrate

The eye area – I know I certainly need help in this department.  The eye area is so fragile and is one of the first places to show signs of ageing and fatigue, which as a Mum to little ones heading towards my 40’s I can totally relate.  A calming cocktail of sea algae and antioxidants that help to soothe and balance.  This Eye Concentrate uses Radiant Ferments to infuse the skin with energy,…..so let the treatment begin.

R.R.P – £150.00 / 15ml

The Revitalizing Hydrating Serum

A new product from La Mer that was launched in January, the Revitalizing Hydrating Serum infuses the skin with energy and hydration.  You apply 2 drops to your fingertips then press the serum over the face and neck, after cleansing and before moisturising.  Micro-droplets claim to help the skin attract and hold moisture going deep into the skin’s surface layers.

R.R.P – £145.00 / 30ml

The Treatment Lotion

Described as a ‘liquid energy’ I was incredibly intrigued by this product.  You apply this by pressing it into the skin immediately after cleansing and before any other product.  It claims to aid products you apply on top of this by penetrating the skins surface’s layers more efficiently which then boosts the effectiveness of your overall skincare routine.  Packed with silky rich moisture that awakens the complexion, it also claims to visibly improve the skins texture and even out skin tone.  Really excited to try this and to see how it performs.

R.R.P – £100.00 / 150ml

The Micellar Water

I love Micellar Waters, I use the Nivea one daily so am keen to see how this compares to my trusted, budget friendly version.  This cooling cleanser removes makeup, including waterproof makeup without drying the skin,  Purifying algae gets to grip with the dirt and pollution to leave the skin feeling soft, hydrated and refreshed.  Can’t wait to put this to the test – I think it would be great to do a comparison blog post on this in the near future.

R.R.P – £70.00 / 200ml

La Mer Glossybox

Overall thoughts – I am so happy I managed to get my hands on this box, it is pure luxury and such a treat.  Part of me is kind of hoping I don’t like all the products because I am not sure I can justify purchasing them full price on a regular basis.  So instead I am going to enjoy and saver the moment of each product, and maybe treat myself every once in a while to 1 or 2 full size products – for beauty blogging purposes of course (cough cough).  But you have to hand it to Glossybox with their collaboration boxes, they really are the best and I can’t wait to see which brand they might collaborate with next.
