Reviewing my new Favourite Mascara by BareMinerals ‘Lashtopia’.
I’ve been putting this ‘Mega Volume Mineral Based Mascara’ to the test since the Summer months, everyday during ‘that’ British Summer heatwave and throughout August in Scorchio Spain….Verdict? It performed so well, brilliantly in fact. Its now my go-to everyday faithful mascara that I’ve reached for throughout Autumn and am still loving as we welcome Winter. Long lasting, great volume and gentle on the lashes.
Finding a good mascara is like finding that perfect pair of denim jeans. It often feels like you have try on so many to find that perfect fit. When it comes to Mascaras I tend to favour ones that add volume, that lengthen, cause no smudging and that are long lasting. Its a quite a list and I do struggle in my search to find a good mascara that ticks all those boxes, plus one that is kind to my sensitive eyes, but the BareMinerals Lashtopia did just that.
Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested so its safe for contact lens wearers. This whipped mouse-like formula feels so gentle on the lashes. Its a little wet on application which I always prefer as dry mascaras just cause flaking on me. That mousse feeling gives you time to build your preferred lash look. Paraben free, sulfate free, phthalate free and fragrance free, this Lashiopia Mascara is also cruelty free, as well as being mineral based.
I personally prefer a thicker mascara wand like this one. I’m really not a big fan of the results the thinner hard mascara wands give me. This mascara’s bristles are staggered in two different lengths which allows you to reach each lash very easily without clumping. The brush feels thick and really soft on the lashes, it seems to fan out the lashes, resulting in fluttery lashes which I love.
One coat will provide a natural everyday look, but add an extra one or two coats on top and you have a more dramatic and intense look in an instant. I like that my lashes don’t feel hard or brittle with this mascara, they still feel very soft and flexible. I also find that if you curl your lashes before applying this mascara it helps to hold that curl really really well.
I wore this mascara by itself during a heatwave in Spain in the Summer months, all day I might add too, and there was no smudging at all, not even a little bit. Its a really hard wearing and long lasting mascara and I haven’t experience any flaking at all either.
This is a new favourite for me and if you have sensitive eyes I highly recommend this mascara. I love that it adds length, darkness and volume to my lashes without clumping or making them look like spider lashes. It feels conditioning on the lashes and as mentioned above the bristles coat each lash with ease, so application seems a lot quicker that I have experienced with many others.
Priced at £21.00 the BareMinerals Lashtopia Mascara would be in the higher end category, but in my opinion it out performs so many other high-end mascaras and the product is lasting well too. The mascara inside the packaging doesn’t dry out or go clumpy like a few well known brands best-selling mascaras do (Dior, Lancome I’m looking at you……). If you are on the search for a high performance, long wearing mascara that is gentle on the eyes, then look no further. I LOVE this mascara!
