I love love love Christmas, it’s such a fun, exciting and special time of year and this year I decided to treat myself to a beauty/luxury advent calendar i.e one of those advents calendars I kept seeing online that held more than just chocolate behind each window. I knew Benefit have previously made some great ones and that they also sell out pretty quickly so as soon as this year’s became available I snapped one up and I am really happy I did.
2015’s calendar is a little different as they have made their calendar the ‘Twelve days of Christmas’ with just 12 windows as opposed to the regular 24. Its called the Party Poppers calendar and in true fun Benefit style its a real eye-catcher.
I love the bright, fun party-themed packaging. It initially looks like a thick book style box and upon opening it plays a catchy original ‘Bene-themed’ song all about the ‘Twelve days of Christmas/parties’ which I am loving and end up singing round the house quite often. Price wise it was £35.00 GBP which compared to many of the beauty advent calendars out there it is on the lower scale but you are only getting 12 products, however I did think it was priced fairly.
Behind each of the 12 windows is a mini/trial size Benefit product and I was quite impressed with the selection:
(Clockwise L to R)
Rockateur Powder Blusher / Sugarbomb Lip Gloss / Hoola Lip Gloss / The Porefessional Primer / Total Moisture Facial Cream / Lollitint Cheek & Lip Stain / Watts Up Highlighter / Ooh La Lift Under Eye Brightener / They’re Real Eye Makeup Remover / They’re Real Mascara / Bad Girl Lash Mascara
Overall I really loved this calendar, everything from the packaging to the products, it was so much fun and I looked forward to opening a window each morning. Its been great way to try some products from Benefit I’ve been meaning to for a while and also to have some travel friendly/handbag size products of the ones I use often, so all in all this has been a big hit and a huge amusement with the song for my kids. I will certainly be purchasing the Benefit Advent Calendar again next Christmas and now that I have sampled one of the beauty calendars I can see this becoming quite an expensive pre-Christmas habit. Happy Holidays!
