Lipsticks are by far my biggest collection when it comes to makeup, closely followed by my eyeshadow palettes but there is one product that is slowly but surely catching them up and that is blushers. A new blusher I recently added to my growing collection (well actually this is abit of a two-in-one blusher) is one by my favourite current makeup brands….Charlotte Tilbury I have become rather obsessed with pretty much any product that Charlotte Tilbury releases, especially her lipsticks which are truly incredible. I have heard great things about her blushers so I put my trusted Nars, Bobbi Brown and MAC blushers to one side and let this beautiful product take centre stage for a while in my daily makeup routine to see if it was worthy of applause.
Packaging: In true Charlotte Tilbury signature style the Cheek to Chic Blushers come in the deep maroon/purple packaging and this one is circular in shape making it easy and comfortable to hold in the palm of your hand. On the inner lid there is a sturdy (and very handy sized) mirror and then the beautifully textured two-toned blusher in the pan. Priced at £30.00 its definitely a splurge rather than a budget-friendly product but its one that is easily wearable for everyday so in terms of price-per-wear I think it’s justifiable for a payday treat. Plus the colour was definitely long-wearing on the skin for me which means its one that would last for quite some time. It feels like a luxury and quality product for sure.
Swatches of the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush in Ecstasy – 2 shades blended together left, pop shade middle, and outer shade right
Shades: The Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic blushes scream that oh-so-fabulous Charlotte Tilbury glamour, and are currently available in 6 different shades. I picked up the shade Ecstasy which is a gorgeous peachy pink two-toned colour. Without question these are my favourite shades of blusher, my go-to, fail-safe, pink-peach type of shades. I lean more towards pink in the Winter, more towards Peach/Coral in the Summer and anywhere inbetween the rest of the time, so this two-toned blusher with a hint of shimmer is my ideal and the best of both worlds in one – peach on the outer circle, pink in the middle.
Other Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Shades currently available are:
- Love Glow – Pretty Pearlescent Pink
- First Love – Peach
- Sex on Fire – Tawny Rose
- The Climax – Reddy-Brown
- Love Is The Drug – Cool Shimmering Pink
Swish and Pop! – The design of the actual product looks a little like a target but its such a fun design and its also so practical in its logic of applying blusher. Swish and Pop! You swish your brush around the outer circle of the product and apply the peach colour along your cheekbone to act as a warmth to the complexion first, then pop the brush on the centre circle colour of the blusher and pop this pink onto the apples of your cheek to add that pop/flush of complementary colour. I often apply blusher this way with a deeper blush as a light contour and then a brighter one to add that pop of colour my pale skin appreciates and I have always loved the effect, and this product works so beautifully this way. You could also swipe your brush across both colours to mix and blend the 2 colours together and apply straight to the cheeks as you normally would with blusher and this also results in a gorgeous glow of pinky/peach colour on the skin. Either way you can’t really go wrong with this blusher and the effects it produces.
Texture: Finely milled, smooth with a pretty sheen. Its not matte, its not chalky, it doesn’t produce that streaky blusher look. Instead its highly pigmented without being too pigmented for a blusher, its that perfect texture that allows you colour payoff without worrying about going overboard on your first application and instead allows you to build the product on your skin to your preference. It blends like a dream, feels beautiful on the skin and gives that gorgeous healthy luminous glow I think Charlotte Tilbury perfects.
Wearing Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush in Ecstasy on my Cheeks.
Results: I love how this product sits on top of foundation and I think it gives a really polished finish. The colour lasts well on me and I really love the healthy glow it adds to my face. Its not too heavy and feels soft and light on the skin. I also like that its buildable so you can add just a very natural warmth to the cheek or go for more of a deeper dramatic contour style with the product if you wish. I am really impressed and am already looking at the other shades trying to decide which is the next one to add to my ever growing Blush and Charlotte Tilbury Collection.
