Miss Kensington is back!
A popular shade previously released as a Limited Edition from the Norman Parkinson Collection, is back in town.
The Matte Revolution Lipstick has been re-released and in my opinion perfectly time for the recent fashion-focused month, especially LFW. It’s a lipstick I think suits the fashion-led weeks to perfection.
For how long it is back in stock?….I’m not sure. So here’s a little more about the Miss Kensington Lipstick herself before she flies off the shelves in fabulous style once more.
I absolutely love the name ‘Miss Kensington’ it sounds very London, very chic and sophisticated. I imagine a lady walking her perfectly pampered pooch in her Mary-Jane heels down High Street Kensington, wearing a Burberry trench coat, hair slicked up in bun, large Dior shades over her perfectly winged eyeliner, with a wash of Miss Kensington lipstick across her lips. Some products instantly produce an image to me and this is one of them. Inspired by the dreamy cascading light and pastel hues from “English Portrait and Fashion Photographer Norman Parkinson’s” pictures of his iconic muses, such as Audrey Hepburn and Twiggy. This rose petal shade gives a heavy nod to the Sixties with a contemporary touch.
Described as an ‘English Rose Pink’, I think the shade when swatched comes out a little different than what it initially looks like as a lipstick. I know on first look the lipstick product was a little deeper and more nude/beige than I was expecting, but once the colour is on the lips it appears lighter and more of a pastel pink.
I think it’s definitely a ‘Nude Tea Rose Pink’ shade, there seems to be a teeny beige/brown undertone to it (which comes through when I swatch it) and which might show up more depending on your complexion and natural lip colour. On my lips the delicate rose pink comes through and I really really like it.
A great everyday neutral light lipstick that works with so many makeup looks, especially a sixties eye. A great Bridal option for the right skintone too, especially olive skin.
This lipstick is in the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution formula which as you may know is my absolute favourite formula of hers and of any brand to be honest. Hydrating, creamy and moisturising, this long-wearing formula is my perfect everyday-go-to formula all year round. It’s such a reliable, beautifully textured, non-drying type, with the square angled tip that mimics the shape of a lip brush, making this a dream to apply (its one I don’t really need a mirror to apply when I am on-the-go).
For me this is slightly more pink than Pillow Talk once on the lips, a teeny bit lighter than English Beauty and not as ‘pinky pink’ as The Duchess or Between The Sheets.
If nudes with a hint of pink are your thing, or if you are a fan of the shade ‘English Beauty’ then this is certainly worth trying to get hold of before she jets off again.
