Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré Review

A fantastic 5 in 1 cream face product that has been a Makeup Artist’s secret for years and years.  And why?  Because Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré is ‘that’ good.  Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré is a product that works its magic in many ways.  So here’s why it is a ‘beauty wonder product’ that has been a cult skincare classic since the 1950’s….

When I was training to be a Bridal Makeup Artist many moons ago.  There was one product that was recommended as an essential for my makeup artist kit over and over again.  That product was Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré.

Its affordable.  It comes in a travel friendly tube that is squeezable.  This makes application simple and easy to use.  Its light in weight, non-bulky and is available in various sizes from 15ml to 500ml.

You can now get this Limited Edition Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré ‘London Edition’ from Look Fantastic in the 50ml size (which is my personal favourite size).  I absolutely love this London packaging, it looks adorable, sleek and I honestly wish it wasn’t Limited Edition as I would purchase this London print packaging all the time!

Above all else, its a wonderful product.  It was always a go-to in my kit and I must have used it on about 95% of my clients.  Non-greasy, super quick to absorb into the skin.  It doesn’t lie on top of the skin making makeup look patchy or shiny either.  In fact it is a wonderful base prep for your skin before makeup, which is what I always used it for.

Its lightweight whilst still being incredibly moisturising.  Gentle enough for sensitive skin, but equally, with the right amount of richness to work on maturing skin, and in particular on dry or flaky red patches.  Its one of the best ‘all rounders’ in terms of face products there is out there in my opinion.

It boosts hydration without grease or irritation, and leaves skin looking and feeling great all day, something always essential with Bridal makeup.  As an everyday multi-tasker, it’s light enough to work all year round for any age, and for men and women alike.  I have used this in the long cold Winter’s in the UK and the scorching hot Summers in Southern Spain.

1 Makeup Primer – You can wear this as a primer under makeup, as mentioned above its a great base for foundation.  I found this helped the foundation or makeup on top to last longer, because it produces such a lovely, clean and balanced base to begin with.  It absorbs into the skin fast, so its an ideal one to apply in a morning before work, and likewise for a makeup artist where time is always against you.

2 Moisturiser – You can use this as a face cream or face mask.  Applying day and/or night to moisturise and hydrate the skin by itself.  I never experienced any irritation with myself or my clients, including sensitive skins, and I used this on a whole range of skin types.  Its a one of those moisturisers that seems to adjust itself to the skin-type to produce a soft, moisturised and hydrated base, without being greasy, tacky or thick.

3Moisturising / Repair Mask – If you find that it doesn’t work for you through the day then its fantastic product to use as a face mask in the evening.  Applying liberally and letting it just absorb slowly into the skin.  Applying a thicker layer onto fresh, clean skin in the evening, then allowing it to absorb and work into the skin overnight.  Producing soft, hydrated and well balanced skin to wake up to, which is such a great feeling.

4 – Makeup Remover – Not many people actually realise that the Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré also works as a makeup remover.  Apply over the makeup in the evening like a cleanser, allow the product to work to lift the makeup, then wipe clean and rinse with water.  Such a handy product to take away with you on holiday or one for your gym bag.

5 – After Shave Cream – A cooling, calming and soothing unisex cream, that’s an ideal one to use on the face after shaving.  I know my husband reaches for this time and time again after shaving because it doesn’t irritate and instead it feels nourishing and gentle.  My husband has incredibly sensitive skin and he swears by this product.

The ingredients include essential fatty acids and vitamins that work to plump and calm the skin.  It also contains nutrients and water to aid with balancing the skin and promoting skin renewal.  The Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré produces a satin film to reduce dryness and discomfort, giving a soft, radiant complexion.

My favourite way to use this product is a primer and moisturiser combined.  A super quick and convenient way to get the results of two products whilst just using the one.  I pop it all over my face in a morning, brush my teeth whilst it absorbs in and then apply my makeup over the top.  Ta da, I have a primer and moisturiser all in one!  I love that it is light enough to allow my skin to breath, and moisturising enough to leave my skin feeling hydrated and soft with a lovely radiant complexion.

There’s no SPF so you will need a separate face SPF but Dermatologists do recommend a separate SPF for the face to ensure full facial protection against UVA and UVB rays.

I especially love this product in the Summer months as it feels cooling on the skin and I like that even if its super hot outside, my skin doesn’t feel oily or greasy.  It has a light scent but nothing heavily fragrant or overpowering in any way.  I’ve applied a lot of different foundations over the top of Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré and it works beautifully with them all – IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream, Giorgio Armani Silk Luminous Foundation, MAC Face & Body, Estée Lauder Double Wear and Double Wear Light, Clinique Superbalanced Foundation to name a few.

Priced between £7.99 for a 15ml through to £28.00 for 500ml and everything in between, including my favourite London Limited Edition which is currently priced £17.99 for 50ml from Look Fantastic.  You can use the code PAY15 for 15% off right now too.  Look Fantastic stock a variety of sizes as do many other drug stores and beauty retailers both in store and online.

Have you tried this product yet?  If so, I would love to know your thoughts in the comments.
