With Valentines Day tomorrow I thought I would get all ‘Date Night Ready’ and create a look a little different to my regular everyday makeup style. The statement product of this look is the beautiful new Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick Opium Noir. The lipstick comes in my favourite ‘matte revolution formula’ and the shade is a beautiful dark berry crimson that oozes glamour, and in my opinion is the perfect Valentines lipstick.
Charlotte Tilbury Opium Noir Matte Revolution Lipstick
There is almost a ‘film noir’ feel to this lipstick, it makes me want to take black and white selfies and feel all ‘old Hollywood smouldering glamour’. Its rich in pigment and packs quite the punch on the lips, although you can wear a light swatch across the lips for a more sheer berry finish (I apply the product by dabbing on the lips with my fingers.) Or, of course you can go full out with the rich berry crimson and let the lipstick speak for itself. It brightens the complexion but at the same time adds that smoulder, sultry vibe due to the definition of the shade. The formula as mentioned is my favourite – a matte finish that is hydrating and silky on the lips. I always struggle to wear matte lipsticks but Charlotte Tilbury’s matte revolution formula is so creamy and non-drying that my lips still feel soft whilst producing a long-wearing colour. Its a stunning shade that will suit so many skin tones and ages. If you are a fan of berry or wine shades you will be in heaven with this lipstick and even for a girl like me who normally wears more pink or coral shades I love it, its one of those products you put on and then can’t stop staring at.
Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eye Palette – Date Eye
Another Charlotte Tilbury product, I adore is this eye palette, its so versatile and is the perfect day-to-night or day-to-date-night combination. The palette eyeshadows are positioned in trio’s of shades that act as guides to create various looks. There is a Day Look, Desk Look, Date Look and Disco Look, or you can combine any of the shades together to create your own style, they all seem to work so perfectly together. As its Valentine’s Day of course I had to go with Date Eye Look which is a trio of sultry, shimmering mauve-cocoa and chocolate shades to create a soft smoke, ideal for an evening look. I started by applying the Prime shade (left) all over the lid, I then added the Smoke shade (right) to the lash area and smoked/blended upwards slightly, and then finally I dabbed the Enhance shade (centre) to the middle of my eyelid. Its such a soft and wearable look and one that can easily transition you from the office desk to the cocktail bar.
House of Lashes – Iconic Lite False Eyelashes
A date night look, especially a Valentine’s evening look would not be complete without a set of lashes and I chose the beautiful House of Lashes Iconic Lite set for this look. Available from the always excellent costumer service website falseeyelashes.co.uk they offer the same stunning style as the original iconic House of Lashes false lashes but in a lighter, thinner version. This works so much better for someone like me who has small eyes. I often struggle to find lashes that don’t look too heavy or make my eyes look half closed. My eyes are small and deep set so often I stick to 3/4 length lashes, these needed to have a little cut off each end but are so comfortable to wear. They photograph really well and are extremely soft and flexible to to apply, and more than anything I love the way they look on my eyes.
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Blush Glow
This is a new addition to my Charlotte Tilbury collection and I am already obsessed with it. There is a full review of this product coming on my blog later this week because this has become my everyday essential already. The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Blush Glow is a duo palette of a bronzer and blusher (which also comes with its own travel sized blusher brush). The bronzer is that perfect blend of buttery, soft golden glow on the skin, which is neither ashy, muddy or orange, instead it gives that ideal sun-kissed radiance and flush of colour to the cheeks. Again in the same buttery soft formula, the blusher is a pink/coral shade that packs a healthy punch adding a gentle radiance and glow to my cheeks that wakes up my Winter skin with a slight golden shimmer/sheen. The duo works in perfect harmony together and this palette is one I will be wearing for quite some time, its versatile to work with so many looks, as well as seasons and I am in love.
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
One of my absolute favourite foundations and one I always turn to for events or special evenings. This beautiful foundation deserves all the love and hype it gets, its that dream combination of adding luminosity, radiance, but in a silky, satin, natural way. Its not too matte but not greasy either, there is coverage but it still looks so gentle on the skin. The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation photographs beautifully and its one of my favourites for Bridal makeup work. I have been using this for years, have never experience a breakout from it (and I have incredibly sensitive skin), its that product I will always reach for when I know I am going to have photos taken. It feels like a touch of luxury on the skin, is lightweight, non-sticky or cakey and just produces that lovely glowy finish. I did a full review on this foundation here on my blog.
Happy Valentine’s Day x
