As a regular subscriber and fan of Glossybox I always get rather excited when there is a collaboration with one of their boxes, but none more so than when I read that Glossybox were teaming up with Nars to bring a package full of Nars treats for a special edition box.
With a huge buzz around this Nars Glossybox on social media I knew I would have to move quickly to secure one of these beauties (special edition boxes don’t form part of the Glossybox Subscription Package and are purchased separately).
I signed up for the presale and on the day was glued to my laptop watching the clock tick towards 9am (I felt that rush of nerves I feel when I am trying to secure concert tickets) luckily I managed to grab one and I ‘was’ lucky as this box sold out within half an hour of it going on sale. Was it worth the hype? Absolutely!
In true Nars style the normally pink Glossybox turned into a velvet-matt textured black and as I opened my little black box of goodies I was delighted with what lay before me, it was like Christmas had come early. 5 Nars mini’s/decent trial size products all ready to be opened and tested.
I love Nars products and have tried many of their blushers, lipsticks, eyeliners, infact I have quite a selection in my kit so it was nice to stock up on some travel friendly sizes of items I regularly purchase as well as having the chance to try some products I haven’t used before.
I have never actually used a Nars Mascara before, not sure why but I have always overlooked them in favour of other brands, however I really like the look of this black mascara. The Brush is a mix of long and short bristles which should allow me to wiggle the mascara right in the lash line to help separate my lashes on application. The wand is also slightly tapered to help lift and curl the lashes. Its Nars’ new mascara and I can’t wait to use this. (Full size product: £21.00)
Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner
I have used Nars eyeliners before and have always highly rated them as one of the best out there. This one is in the shade Via Veneto which is a true black, on swatch it has a rich and creamy texture which I always love with Nars Eyeliners, perfect for smudging to create a smokey eye. The bottom of the pencil contains a self sharpener which is always a plus. (Full size product: £19.00)
Blush in Orgasm
Such a cult classic, beauty lovers everywhere know all about Nars Orgasm. If you can get past some of Nars blusher names the powder products themselves are incredibly good and highly hyped for a reason. I have Nars Orgasm blusher in my kit, in my personal collection and this travel size version is perfect to pop into my makeup bag for everyday. The peachy/pink shade with a golden light shimmer that suits so many different skin types and tones is just very pretty and flattering, I love it and find it difficult to overdue this blusher, it just gives you a healthy radiant glow. (Full size product: £23.00)
The Multiple in Orgasm
The same cult classic shade as the blush but in a multiple stick-like crayon. Even though I have gone through countless Nars Orgasm Blushers over the years I haven’t used their multiple before. The trick to using this is to use it like a crayon, rub a little on the back of your hand to warm it up then dab along your cheekbones, lips, eyes, even on the body to create a shimmer contour. On swatch The Multiple is alot more shimmery and sheer than the blusher but I am looking forward to experimenting with this and to try this on top of the blusher for a more intense sun-kissed look. (Full size product: £29.00)
Satin Lip Pencil
I adore Nars Lip Pencils so was delighted to receive this in the shade Rikugien, a shade I haven’t used before but one I know I will as its a beautiful dusty rose shade (my kind of shade). These jumbo lip pencils are so smooth and creamy on application, they glide on all dreamy and silky with ease. I find these to be quite moisturising on my dry lips and the colour pay off is all kinds of good. Use lightly to dab on the centre of the lips and then rub along the whole lip with your fingers for a more natural look or fill the whole lip in directly with the crayon for true more intense colour. (Full size product: £19.00)
All in all this is one of the best beauty box collaborations I think there has ever been, they kept copies of this box limited which is also why it sold out so quickly and I am so happy I managed to get one. I know I will use each and every product an awful lot, many will become a permanent addition to my makeup bag. It cost £30.00 GBP as I was a Glossybox subscriber (£35.00 for non-subscribers) and I feel it was great value. I love it – please Glossybox more collaborations like this one! x
