Zoeva Cosmetics and Glossybox have partnered together to bring you a box bursting with Zoeva goodies in this Glossybox Zoeva Limited Edition Box 2020 which is available right now.
When Glossybox collaborate with a brand to produce a limited edition box, they really do produce an amazing Glossybox. I remember many moons ago the Glossybox Nars collaboration (which incidentally was one of my very first blog posts nearly 5 years ago!). That box was full of gorgeous treats sampling the best of Nars, the same with La Mer skincare which introduced me to a whole new love with the brand. Fast forward a few years on and here I am again, but this time with Zoeva and this looks such an exciting box.
Zoeva Cosmetics are a brand I have heard and read many great reviews about. However, even though I am a beauty blogger, I don’t think I have ever tried any of their makeup products before.
This Limited Edition Glossybox is a great way to sample a variety of products from a brand in a really good ‘value for money’ way. Plus the box packaging always makes it feel like a present, a gift from ‘me to me’, which is such a nice treat, especially with everything going on in the World at the moment.
Lets delve into this box of goodies and take a closer look at the six full size products you will receive.
ZOEVA COCOA BLEND EYESHADOW PALETTE
I absolutely love a good eye shadow palette. It’s always a very welcome addition to any Glossybox and this full size palette looks beautiful. With the magnetic closure and 10 pan palette that offers a mixture of mattes, satins and metallics, this is an Autumnal dream of an eye shadow palette.
The warm tones of creams, browns, mauves, cranberries, coppers and rich chocolate shades form a universal flattering palette. With the potential of many a day-to-night look, from natural and casual, to more dramatic intense looks, from a simple smokey eye, to full evening glam. There are so many eye looks to create from this palette, its one you can certainly enjoy playing around with.
The colour payoff is so good too, especially with the mattes, highly pigmented shades that blend like a dream and feel buttery and smooth in texture. Despite the fact there is no mirror, it does keep the packaging very lightweight and overall I think this is a wonderful introduction to Zoeva. I’m definitely keen to explore more of their eye shadow palettes after seeing this one now, especially their matte shades as they are stunning.
ZOEVA STROBE GEL – NOVA
This full size strobe gel will add a luminous glow to your complexion and it feels a very generously sized product. Quite weighty in a 15ml glass pot, the strobe gel shade received in this box is Nova which is a rose gold with fine gold glitter. I have to say I’m not normally a fan of anything with glitter in it for the face, a luminous shimmer yes, but glitter is a bit of a no-no for me.
This claims to be lightweight in texture so it melts effortlessly into the skin. It can be worn lightly for a natural looking dewiness, or layered for an intense strobing highlight. The texture is quite jelly-like, in fact its really strange, almost like a children’s slime in terms of texture and consistency. As its more on the wet-feel side its unlikely to drag on the skin, which is a big plus. I would be intrigued to see how this would work as a pop of highlight in the middle of the eye too, as I feel the shade and texture could certainly work this way.
Overall this was a pleasant surprise, I honestly thought it would be a complete no for me but its one I will return to. I found the best way to apply is to dab on the back of your hands then gently tap along your cheekbones with your fingertips.
ZOEVA PURE MATTE LIPS – DARE TO DREAM
As soon as I saw the cool toned pinky lilac shade of this I let out an immediate ‘oooooooo’ – this looks really intriguing!
Matte liquid lipsticks are a product I am always a little on the fence about as I tend to have quite naturally dry lips, so often its a product I stay far far away from. Having said that this does feel quite fine and lightweight in texture and the colour is a curious one. Its quite a unique shade but I think more wearable than it may initially first appear. For example a smokey eye with this lip would look stunning on the right skin-tone and you could always apply a little clear gloss on top if that’s more your preferred look.
This shade on my bare lips is absolutely no, it just makes me look so washed out, but by adding a little to the middle of my lips over a different, deeper lipstick, it adds a lovely dimension.
It claims to be transfer free and long lasting, with a velvety smooth finish.
ZOEVA EYESHADOW FIX MATTE
I cannot wear eyeshadow without an eyeshadow primer, so this is such a welcome addition for me. I’m normally quite faithful to TooFaced and Urban Decay when it comes to my eye primers but very happy to try this out and am hoping this will be up there as a must-have in my makeup bag.
This product is enriched with rice silk and vitamin E, both known to help smooth the skin. A good eye primer will also help pigments to stay put longer, prevent creasing (a big one for me on my maturing eyes) and often help a colour pop more on the eye lid.
If this works as well as it sounds, I could have found myself a new favourite. Very excited for this product and potentially a good one if you have oily eyelids.
ZOEVA VOYAGER TRAVEL BRUSH SET
I don’t think you can ever have too many makeup brushes, I love travel size ones too, so handy for the handbag and of course handy for travel (once we can again). This quartet of professional eye makeup brushes feel very soft and really nice to handle. They feel good quality too, made of natural-synthetic hair blend as well as pure synthetic hair.
Included in this four piece Voyager Travel Brush Set are:
a concealer buffer for applying and blending concealer
a crease brush for blending eyeshadow into your crease
a smokey shader to create a smokey effect
and finally a brow brush to apply cream and powder eyebrow products.
To be honest when it comes to makeup brushes, the names of what each brush is for goes out of the window for me, I prefer to try different brushes for different uses rather than what they are often intended for. For example, the brow line brush I always love to use as an eye liner brush, the concealer blending brushes I really like for buffing in eye shadow, etc. So its definitely about what works best and easiest for you when it comes to makeup brushes in my opinion.
This is a great little set and I know Zoeva makeup brushes are incredibly good and last well. My favourite is the crease brush, it will become a staple for me for sure, as I absolutely love it already.
ZOEVA GRAPHIC EYES – BLACK TO EARTH
Last but by no means least in this Glossybox Zoeva Limited Edition Box 2020 is the ‘graphic eyes pencil’. Firstly I love the name of this shade ‘Black to Earth’, which you can probably guess means it is a true black liner. The Zoeva Graphic Eyes combine the smoothness of a liquid liner with the easy application of a traditional pencil.
Highly pigmented with a smooth application, I like that this doesn’t drag the skin like some can. It feels an easy one to smoke out too and it is very soft. A big plus for me is that this is also waterproof, which is a must for me with eyeliners as my eyes often water when its cold outside. Helps having a waterproof liner on the lower lash line too as it always fair better with potential smudging throughout the day. Really looking forwards to properly putting this to the test and seeing if it lives up to its claims.
What a box! I’m seriously impressed. A great introduction for myself and am sure many others to Zoeva Cosmetics in a well thought out way. I love the eye shadow palette and am so glad there is an eye primer in the box too. Another favourite are the makeup brushes, they are so soft and feel of really good quality.
Overall I think this box is fantastic value for money in my opinion. I think Glossybox knock it out of the park with their Limited Edition sets and this one has not disappointed at all.
