Sunday Mornings are mornings I treasure so much. Our house is pretty hectic most of the week with the school run, our work, the kids activities, etc, so Sundays are something of a welcomed treat because its the only day we usually have nothing planned. At this time of year as the weather is turning pretty cold there is nothing better than pressing the snooze button on the alarm (or even better no alarm at all), cosying back under the duvet and catching some of those precious extra zzzzz's I miss and long for through the week.
Sunday mornings are also abit of a 'pamper/lazy time' for me. The Hubbie gets up with the children and takes them downstairs whilst Mummy has the bedroom, bed and blankets all to myself (if you have young children you will know how rare having all those items to yourself at once are). I like to sleep-in abit, then just relax in bed catching up on the Sunday Papers (who doesn't love abit of gossip), flicking through Pinterest (pinning way too many grey and white interiors), researching our American Holiday for next year, and sipping my hot latte my awesome Hubbie brings up for me. All of this whilst enjoying the scent of one of my favourite candles surrounding the room. It is utter bliss and helps me to relax before I gear up for what the week ahead has in store.
My current favourite Sunday Morning Candle is this Jo Malone Lavender and Lovage Candle from the Jo Malone 'Just Like Sunday Collection' - which is a collection created by Jo Malone's Style Director Charlotte Stockdale. The 'Just Like Sunday' Collection was inspired by scents of what Sundays meant to Charlotte, so its a lovely, personal and poignant line. I am a huge candle lover, and knowing how expensive Jo Malone candles are its nice to save them for that precious time when I can indulge in a face mask and really sit back (or in my case lie back) to enjoy the scents that fill the room.
Later in the day we normally take the children out for a walk, visit a museum or head to the park before coming back for a Sunday Roast and bubble bath time. Sundays in our house are a day to pause a little, recharge the batteries, and take things that little bit easier, and Sundays....you are so very special.
*The Jo Malone Lavender and Lovage Candle is available from Jo Malone Stores nationwide and selected department stores including John Lewis for £45.00.
